| What You Will Need: Woodcutting axe, around 100-150 feathers, knife,
chisel |
| Reward: 1470 Cooking XP, 735 Ranging XP, 262 Fletching XP, an Ogre
Bow, 2 Quest Points, and the ability to hunt chompys and the ability to make
ogre bows. |
| Begin Quest: Talk to Rantz south of Yanille and the Ogre city, he can
be found at the far right side of the area. |
1. After talking to Rantz, you will find that he wants food. He asks you to
make him arrows for his bow. Walk a little south and cut five to ten logs from
the Achey Trees found there.
2. Next go southwest until you find the wolves. Kill a few and use your chisel
on their bones; this will give you the arrow heads needed. Now fletch the arrows
as you would any other. Cut the log with your knife, use the feathers on the
shafts, then add the heads. You will need ten to fifteen arrows.
3. Go back to Rantz. He will tell you about some toads, ask him everything you
can.
4. Enter the cave to the north of Rantz and you will find his two sons. They
will tell you that they like to blow up the toads using bellows for fun, and
that their dad had taken them from them. Look around the cave to find the chest,
open it and take the bellows.
5. Head southwest back towards the wolves and look for the swamp. Use the
bellows on the gas bubbles in the swampy pond. This will give you a better air
solution to blow the toads up. Next use the bellows on the toads, you will need
about three to five; you may have you refill the bellows with more air as it
only holds three charges.
6. Now go back and talk to Rantz again, he will show you where to place the
toads. Do so, this will draw out the chompy bird. Rantz will miss and complain
that your arrows are weak. Offer to shoot for him.
7. Place another toad and wait until the chompy comes out again. When it
appears, shoot it and pick up the raw chompy. Rantz will want you to cook the
chompy for him as well. He will ask you to season it with whatever his sons want
with the chompy bird. This differs from player to player so simply talk to the
sons and ask what they want. Here’s a list of where to find the ingredient they
may want:
Onion: West of the swamp near some ogres with a fire
Doogle Leaf: Northwest of Swamp
Equa Leaf: Southeast of Rantz (hard to find)
Tomato: West of the Swamp
Cabbage: North of swamp near the bear
Potato: Southeast of Rantz
8. Use the bird on the spit roast next to Rantz, and then talk to Rantz again.
He will take the seasoned bird.
