| Begin Quest: The Archaeological Expert at the digsite. |
1. Talk to the Archaeological expert. She will give you an unstamped
letter.
2. Talk to the curator of Varrock Museum. He will stamp the certificate.
3. Go to the examiner and give her the stamped certificate of examination.
4. Follow the road north until you reach two wooden walkways. Take the northeast
one and look in the bushes. They should be at the top of the hill. They are
before the tent. Once that's done, you should have a rock sample.
5. Go southeast and use a panning tray on the panning points. A guide will ask
you what you're doing, and that you can't pan unless you're invited. He says
that if you give him a cup of tea, he will let you pan. Use the cup of tea on
the guide.
6. Continue panning until you find a rock sample covered with mud.
7. northwest of the panning point should be a women. Pickpocket her until you
get a rock sample and Specimen brush.
8. Talk to a student in a green shirt. He will tack the rock sample and tell you
this: The study of earth sciences is the study of the earth, its contents and
history.
9. A little north, talk to a student in an Orange shirt. He will take the other
rock sample, and tell you: the eligible people to use the digsite are all that
have passed the appropriate earth sciences exam.
10. Just ahead of you, there should be a female student in a purple shirt (I'm
afraid I don't like purple that much). Now this smarty, will tell you: The
proper health and safety points are gloves and boots to be worn at all times,
proper tools must be used.
11. Go to the examiner and take the exam. The correct answers will not be
offered unless you have talked to the students above. She will give you a Level
1 certificate and a Trowel.
12. Now go back, and talk to all three of the students again. The green shirt
will tell you the correct use of a rock pick, which is: always handle with care,
strike the rock cleanly on its cleaving point. The orange shirt says the correct
sample for transportation, which is: Samples taken in rough form, kept in sealed
containers. The purple shirt will speak of handling what you find: finds must be
carefully handled, and gloves worn. Take the second exam, and you will get the
second exam certificate.
13. For the third and final time, talk to the students. The purple shirt will
ask for an opal or jade for her help, and in return will talk about the Specimen
Brush use. The green one will talk about proper technique for handling bones,
while the orange shirt talks about sample preparation. Specimen Brush: Brush
carefully and slowly, using short strokes. Proper technique for handling bones:
Handle bones carefully, and keep away from other samples. Sample Preparation:
Samples cleaned and carried only in specimen jars.
14. You have completed the third and final exam, and you can now dig anywhere in
the digsite! Give your exam certificates to the curator of the Varrock of museum
for safekeeping, so that it doesn't waste space in your bank.
15. Go to the dig site, and enter the north east corner of the dig site (past
the winch). Search the sacks and find a specimen jar (3rd level wilderness near
a buried skeleton).
16. Use the trowel on the soil of the buried skeleton until you find a Zaros
talisman. Use the talisman on the archaeological expert. He will award you for
your ?keen eye? with a scroll saying you can use his personal mine shaft (How
nice.)
17. Go to the digsite and use the letter on a workman. He says you can enter the
shafts. Go to the northwest corner, then go south a level (sign says level 2
digs only). Go to the area with the winch, and you'll be told you need a bucket
to operate it. Use a rope with the winch, get down and grab an arcenian root,
then leave that area.
18. Go west of the tents. You should find 3 barrels. Use the trowel on them
until one of them is opened. Use the empty vial on it and you will get some
orange unidentified liquid. Unless you want to deal 20 ? 36 damage to yourself,
I suggest not dropping the vial.
19. Use the vial on the Archaeological expert, and he will identify it as
Nitroglycerin.
20. Go to the examiners room and search his book case. You should find a book of
Experimental Chemistry. It has ingredients to make a bomb which you will
eventually need.
21. Go to the north east winch. The guy says it's private (pfft!) Use the scroll
on him, and then go down. Talk to the workmen and say: I have been invited to
work here, then, do you know where I can find a chest key. Then just use the
first option, and you'll score yourself a key!
22. Go to the tent near the panning points. Use the chest key on the locked
chest (so that's why we need the key) and you will get some unidentified white
powder. Take it to the expert, and it will be identified as Ammonium Nitrate.
23. Go to the digsite and go down the north east winch. Time to make a bomb!
Use:
The Ammonium nitrate on Nitroglycerin,
Use Ground charcoal on the mixture,
Finally use the Arcenia root on the mixture.
24. Go to the south fork and use your bomb on the bricks. Then light them on
fire with a tinderbox (Runescape continues to make me wonder). Get the stone
tablet which will be straight ahead of you.
25. Take the stone tablet to the archaeological expert, and get a long deserved
reward! |
