| Quest Name: Eagles' Peak |
| Quest Type: Pay to Play |
| Difficulty: Easy |
Requirements:
(Quests): None (Skills): 27 Hunter |
What You Will Need: 1 yellow dye, 2 swamp tar,
and 50gp. Recommended: Ardougne Teleport
Runes (At least 4), Varrock Teleport Runes (At least 1), Boots of Lightness, and
a Spotted/Spottier cape. |
| Reward: 2 Quest Points. 2500 Hunter xp, ability to capture Ferrets,
and access to fly from the Eagles' Peak. |
| Begin Quest: Speak to Charlie the Zookeeper
at the Ardougne Zoo. |
Start the quest by talking to Charlie at
the Ardougne Zoo. He will tell you about the ferret problem and how Nickolaus
went missing.
Now head off to find Nickolaus. Try looking at his camp site first. It can be
found at the base of Eagles Peak at a camp site near the west. It's really close
to the gnome area. You can't miss it.
You won't find him there, but you'll find several footprints and things you can
inspect! Inspect his book pile and you'll get the
bird book. Read the bird book and you
will get a Metal Feather from inside it.
Skip to the part of the book about the Giant
Eagle.
Head up Eagles Peak to the south and inspect a rocky outcrop at the top. You can
either head back to Ardougne Zoo and talk to Charlie and then head back to
Eagles Peak (Which you don't need to do), or you can just continue on without
going back to Ardougne.
Use the metal feather on the Rocky Outcrop onto of Eagles Peak and it'll open
up revealing a tunnel.
Enter the tunnel and you will find a feathered
journal on the ground. Pick it up. Read through the Journal.
Do NOT go straight ahead into the next
cave. Instead head over to the ledge.
Grab 10 eagle feathers then walk a little out on the ledge. You'll see Nickolaus.
Talk to him and tell him the Ardougne Zookeeper sent you, and then say that
you'll get a ferret for him. After he partially admits to being "trapped", ask
if you could assist him.
Now you will need to make a disguise! Make sure you have 10 feathers, 2 swamp
tar, 50 coins, and 1 yellow dye. After you have the materials to make the two
costumes, head to the Fancy Dress Shop Owner
in Varrock.
Tell the Fancy Dress Shop Owner that you are after a couple of bird costumes.
Talk to him again and tell him you have the feathers and material he requested.
Give him 50 coins and the materials and he'll give you two costumes.
Wear the disguise and head back to the Eagles Peak cave. Go "shout" to Nickolaus
with both Eagle costumes. After you convince him you're not going to eat him,
he'll ask you to bring it over to him.. Head around the path to the North West
and go to the stone door. It won't work, and you'll have to collect feathers
from the 3 different caves inside.
Go to each of the caves and try your hand at the puzzles.
First puzzle
(Pull the reset lever at the start of the cave if you make a mistake.)
To do the first puzzle, you will have to pull the levers inside. You can move
the metal birds by putting odd bird seed at the bird feeder at the end of their
track. You should only need 6 handfuls of odd bird seed to finish this puzzle.
1. Pull Lever A
2. Bird Seed 1
3. Bird Seed 2
4. Pull Lever D
5. Pull Lever A
6. Bird Seed 3
7. Pull Lever C
8. Bird Seed 4
9. Pull Lever B
10. Bird Seed 6
11. Bird Seed 3
Once you finish you will get the golden feather.
Second puzzle
The second puzzle involves you following tracks. You are probably used to
hunting kebbits by now.
When you get to the opening a large level 13 or 27(Don't know what determines
it. Probably random.) kebbit will fly out at you and you must kill it.
Once you kill the Kebbit you will get the silver
feather.
Third puzzle
The third puzzle is an obvious trap. Right after you try to grab the feather it
will get pulled up in the net.
Just wind all the winches and it will fall down.
Once you finish you will get the Bronze Feather.
Now head to the stone door and use all of the feathers on it to open it up.
Make sure you're dressed as an eagle to get past the mother Eagle. Talk to
Nickolaus and give him his disguise.
Head back to his camp site and talk to him again. There is a shortcut there now.
He'll show you how to catch a ferret, and you can head back to the Ardougne Zoo
and talk to Charlie to finish the quest!
