| Begin Quest: Gnome Stronghold. Talk to Kathy Corkat |
Note I will refer to the "Wise Old Man" as the "WOM".
The Guide:
Travel along the
western side of the gnome stronghold (outside the stronghold) and you should see
2 NPCs, talk to Kathy Corkat and give her 50gp (or you can use Ring of Charos
(u) for a free boat ride), she'll take you near to the colony entrance, then
talk to Herman Caranos who is near by. He'll say you need to get the wise old
man to help, so go to draynor and ask the wise old man to join you (You will
also get a chance to watch some cut scenes of The WOM during this conversation).
He'll say he needs 5 blood runes, 10 mist runes and 10 lava runes. Give him the
runes and he'll teleport to the colony entrance, make your way there to. You'll
see the WOM where Herman Caranos was and he'll tell you that you should go to
the colony camp with him. WOM will say that there are monstesr near by. Now be
prepared to fight several lvl 79 sea trolls. The WOM will help a lot at the
start of the fight but will run out of runes and will then walk around randomly
throwing stones that do 2 damage to the trolls. You can give him more mist/lava
runes for him to use during the fight, I haven't tried
this but it sounds logical.
Now talk to Herman Caranos in his cabin on the
most eastern side of the camp (WOM will tele next to him). He will tell you to
help out in the camp.
Help
Franklin Caranos
Start by talking to Franklin Caranos and go to the
the fire box in a building south of Herman Caranos's cabin. Put some logs in the
fire box and light it up with the tinderbox you were given. Now use your 5 iron
bars on the fire box and make them into iron sheets. If you don't have a hammer,
the iron sheets will just fall off so go and talk to Franklin Caranos again to
get a free hammer from him. Now go to the most western side of the camp, you
should see that the fencing on your minimap there is red, that's the iron fences
to repair, use the iron sheets on the broken fencing. Go back to Franklin
Caranos and tell him your finished, he'll tell you to go to Arnold.
Help Arnold Lydspor
Talk to Arnold Lydspor and he'll give you a small net. Catch 5 monkfish by
the fishing spot (shown on your minimap). You will come across 3 trolls while
fishing that will increase in level (lvl 59, 79 and a 101 IIRC), once you have
them, go and cook them. Give them to Arnold Lydspor.
Now talk to Herman
Caranos and say it's all finished. WOM and Herman Caranos have a plan but need
an army to repel the trolls. WOM will tell you to go to Wizard Frumscone in the
basement of the Magic Guild (this is where your required magic level comes in)
in Yanille.
Talk to Frumscone and he'll tell you to go to Maglius Mortifier
(where he is located south of Falador). Talk to Maglius Mortifier and he'll tell
you to get 7 normal bones, give them to him and he'll then tell you to go to the
Crafting guild which is near by to find out how to make a container for the bone
seeds (He will also give you a free brown apron for the entrance to the guild).
Talk to a master crafter there and he'll tell you to make a pot with a lid (from
One Small Favour). Make a pot lid and also buy/make a pot. Give them to Maglius
Mortifier and he'll put the seeds in the pot and seal it, he will also then
shortly teleport you to the Camp entrance Go to Herman Caranos and get prepared for
the last battle. The skeletal mages will take out the first wave of sea trolls.
The Sea Troll General will then come out of the sea and WOM will p00n it to
death. The Sea Troll Queen (level 170) will then come out and kill WOM .
Put protect from magic prayer on with your best melee equipment you have, wasn't
too hard to kill her for me (lvl 105 combat with whip). Congratz!! You completed
the Swan Song quest!
You can fish for Monkfish which is 120 exp for fishing, 150 exp for cooking and
heals 16 hp. You can also collect seaweed from the nets here to. You can kill
Skeletal mages in a cabin on the western side of the Camp. You can sell iron
sheets (20 smith xp while making these btw) to Franklin Caranos for 20gp each.
